About WOW Rosies
An official chapter dedicated to honoring, educating, and preserving the legacy of World War II Rosies in Eastern Michigan.
Our Mission
WOW Rosies is an official chapter connected to the American Rosie the Riveter Association. We exist to honor the women who served on the home front during World War II and to ensure their stories, sacrifices, and legacy are never forgotten.
For nearly three decades, this chapter has worked to preserve the stories and memory of World War II Rosies through events, educational outreach, personal representation, and community connection. WOW Rosies exists not just to appear at events, but to carry the history forward with respect and accuracy.
Connected to the National Association
WOW Rosies is part of the American Rosie the Riveter Association and should be recognized as an official chapter within that larger national mission. This connection matters because it reflects authenticity, accountability, and a shared commitment to preserving Rosie history the right way.

A Legacy of Service and Remembrance

More Than a Costume
When WOW Rosies appears in uniform, it is done intentionally and respectfully. This is not dress-up. It is a visible way of honoring the real women who served, worked, and sacrificed during World War II. Representation matters, and historical dignity matters too.
The uniform represents the women ordnance workers (WOW) who built weapons and ammunition for the war effort. When we wear it, we carry their stories forward and remind communities that these were real people—not symbols, not costumes, but women who made a difference.
